The town of Basingstoke was known as ‘Doughnut City’ back in the day, due to having so many roundabouts. If you’ve got a car then driving around Basingstoke is easy; the town is well sign posted, and very well lit at night due to being based around a lot of main roads.

If you’re travelling in and out of Basingstoke via train to London Waterloo then you’ll be there in well under and hour; the same goes for Portsmouth if you plan to travel south. The Basingstoke train station can be found at the back of the Festival Place shopping mall and is within an easy walking distance of many other local attractions.

There are dozens of buses that run in, out and around the town of Basingstoke and you won’t find it difficult to grab a taxi if you plan on spending the evening in town. There is also an evening bus for people wishing to stay out late and wish to get home safely.
