Farnham is a beautiful market town located close to the border of Surrey and Hampshire. The historic town falls under the Waverley Borough council and is close to nearby towns such as Aldershot, Alton, Farnborough, Camberley and the popular shopping district of Guildford. Farnham in Surrey is known for its wonderful castle, which sits at the very top of one of the loveliest roads in the whole of the town, Castle Street; a pretty road full of boutique shops and unique restaurants. Farnham is a great place to live in the south of England, due to its fantastic location. With a main line train station located south of the town, residents of Farnham can be in the centre of London in just one hour. By car, people living in Farnham can drive to the M3 motorway within just 15 minutes and can be at Junction 10 of the M25 in around 20 minutes. The Blackwater Valley route is a convenient, quick route to Aldershot, Farnborough and Camberley and the A3 is just a 10 minute drive away. Farnham is located just over an hour away from London’s Gatwick Airport and around 45 minutes from Heathrow. You’re also never far away from the coast if you live in Farnham; coastal towns of Brighton and Bournemouth can both be driven to in around 90 minutes.

If you’re looking for things to do around Farnham you’ll be spoiled for choice. Farnham town centre is full of boutique shops, cafes, trendy bars and restaurants, most of which are open 7 days a week. The historic Lion and Lamb Yard is a pedestrianised, cobbled road featuring lovely shops, a Waitrose and plenty of unique to drink, dine and watch the world go by. Parking is not a problem in Farnham; there are several open air, pay and display car parks dotted around the town, so even if you live close by, parking so that you don’t have to carry your shopping home is advisable. Elphicks, a long-standing and well known department store features two levels and stocks anything and everything from fragrances to footwear and beyond. A little further on down West Street you’ll find Farnham Library and Farnham Museum, as well as an Art Gallery located close to Gostrey Meadow. Farnham Maltings frequently hosts hobby and craft fairs, as well as frequent antique markets and a popular farmers market is held in the central car park once a month. Farnham Park is a great open space to walk a dog or to take children for a run around. The park backs on to Farnham Golf Club, adjacent to Farnham Cricket Club and for a fun day out, the historic ruins of Waverley Abbey and Birdworld are just a short drive away. Farnham in Surrey is a dream place to live if you plan on commuting. Farnham’s main line train station, located on Station Hill, runs a direct train service twice an hour in to London Waterloo, with its route commencing its journey in nearby Alton. Aside from a convenient train service, the picturesque town of Farnham also provides an excellent bus service in and around the town. A taxi rank can be found centrally on Castle Street and cycling around the one-way system in Farnham is safe and easy. People with a disability wishing to get around Farnham have use of community transport, operated by Care Farnham and Hoppa. Most of Farnham is operated by a one-way system, but the Farnham bypass can take you from the Shephard and Flock round about, towards Alton and down to the coast, or across town towards the Blackwater Valley relief road or on to the A331 to Guildford. You’re never far away from anywhere if you live in Farnham.
