The town of Yateley in Hampshire isn’t huge, but it is surrounded by a plethora of things to do; whether you’re a newlywed couple, you’ve just retired or you have a young family to entertain. Yateley itself has its own football club, known as Yateley FC, along with a parish church, a friendly local pub and a village green where local activities are held annually. Tennis courts and a playground are located near the green, as are the cricket and hockey clubs. The Blackwater Valley Golf Club is nearby and is a beautiful spot for keen golfers to meet and play on a regular basis. Yateley features two supermarkets, but is only a short drive away from the UK’s largest M&S superstore and a huge Tesco. The town of Camberley, which can be reached within a 10-15 minute drive, houses a number of popular shops, along with lots of lovely restaurants, a state-of-the-art cinema, a department store, a shopping mall with ample parking and much more.
Transport in Yateley
If you plan on communing in to London, Reading or any of Yateley’s surrounding towns then you’re in luck, because Yateley itself is surrounded by several major road links. Yateley is just a stones throw from junction 4A of the popular M3 motorway, which easily transports commuters directly into London or down to the south coast. A number of local bus routes can transport the residents of Yateley to the nearby towns of Aldershot and Camberley, and for people wishing to travel via train, Sandhurst is the closes station, operating trains daily into Reading and Guildford. Yateley does also have it’s own airport, known as Blackbushe, but it mainly caters for flying lessons and leisure as opposed to major airlines. However, for people looking to live in a town that is in easy access to Bournemouth, Gatwick or Heathrow airports, Yateley is still a popular choice.
